WHY

SLEUTH?

Using a data-informed approach we align SME technology and services offers with local government technology and digital strategy change programs to build IT capacity and capability for the future.

ABOUT

Sleuth is a Cooperative, owned and controlled by our members, who all share a common desire to work in better ways - better for our clients, better for our members and better for society.

Using a data-informed approach we align SME technology and services offers with local government technology and digital strategy change programs to build IT capacity and capability for the future.

Sleuth is objective and agnostic

We don’t give preferential treatment to any SMEs and have no perverse incentives for showcasing their products on the platform. We can focus our efforts persistently and enthusiastically on making this happen.

We are committed to innovating public services

We have a diverse team working in a number of innovation agencies and organisations, delivering cutting-edge solutions, who can be deployed quickly. This will create significant momentum within a short timescale.

Their skills are extremely well placed to develop and manage the innovation platform, and the associated activities such as the development of business cases, video production, and running related hack events or unconferences.

Qualities we will bring to this product

Extensive experience working in and with Local Authorities across the UK .

Bringing together different stakeholders and brokering a shared understanding of the challenges, objectives, plan of action, delivery, and implementation.

We have a solid network of Local Authorities connected on LinkedIn - interested and in need of the platform. We drive traffic by writing engaging content that resonates with activists.

Extensive experience working with SMEs and tech/digital start-ups.

We have researched strategic drivers across the UK and have found that most authorities are looking for contextually nuanced solutions to the same problems, particularly within Adults Social care and Health integration.

We have a solid network of SMEs on LinkedIn through regular articles and blogging.

Strong understanding of the broader context of ‘more for less’ Local Authority reality and funding environment.

Our members have over 30 years collectively working in Local Government technology procurement and innovation.

Our view is that without much faster innovation, there are signs that Local Government funding gaps will result in major system failures in the next 10 years.

FUNDING

We a looking for parties that can provide:

Upfront funding to support early development

Networks of SMEs to attract to the platform

Networks of Local Authorities for us to involve in the conversation to ensure the platform is useful to them.

If you can offer small-scale funding, in-kind resources, specialist expertise, advice, or experience across the intersection of areas the innovation platform addresses. These ‘partner’ or supporting organisations will act as ‘critical friends’, cheerleaders and help drive traffic to the platform.
